Although there is still very much an interest in standard funeral services, as of recent, we are beginning to see a growing trend of personal touches being added to funeral services that are more reflective of the deceased’s personality.
These personal touches come in all sizes. It’s not always a completely customized service; sometimes it is a very small gesture or addition to the service that creates that personalized touch. For example, when a runner had passed away, a group of his running mates were eager to run beside his hearse as it drove the two miles to the cemetery. As tears ran down their faces, they ran the two miles paying tribute to their running partner in his last ride.
There are a plethora of ideas across the Internet, from small touches to ideas of how individuals would like their funeral service to reflect who they are in a completely customized service. Have you considered what would make your services reflective of your personality? Is there something special that you’d like to be remembered by?
If you have personal preferences or ideas that you’d like for your own service, we strongly urge you to make those thoughts known to your family. Pre-planning is also an excellent way to contribute your thoughts and final wishes. At Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, we try to accommodate your requests as best we can, providing insight and expertise on how to implement them in a way that is meaningful to both you and your family/friends.
