A “Free Lunch” Should Be On Your Funeral Planning Checklist

Keeping a funeral planning checklist can be a very satisfying process. Sure, thinking about your own funeral is never simple, but if you consider doing it with a clear mind, it could release some anxiety and pressure.

Phaneuf Funeral Homes is offering two free sessions of our popular Lunch and Learn seminars in June, 2018. Michele M. Phaneuf-Plasz will host the lunches, with a focus on funeral pre-planning and cremation.

Michele has been involved in funeral service since 1997, and is a fourth-generation funeral director.

Choose between:

Tuesday, June 5, noon to 1:30 p.m.
Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium Reception Center
243 Hanover St., Manchester, NH 03104

Or:
Thursday, June 7, noon to 1:30 p.m.
Cafe at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium
172 King St., Boscawen, NH 03303

There are many considerations to funerals, such as choosing the locations and elements of the service, which have become less traditional over time. Will you have calling hours, or a religious service only?  You might or might not have a cemetery burial and reception. You’ll choose music, prayers, readings, and other ways to personalize the service to honor your loved one.

Over a casual lunch in a comfortable environment, Michele will discuss with attendees three significant  reasons for funeral pre-planning:

Providing your final wishes to your family and friends

If you have things written down, and have conversations with your loved ones, there is a greater chance of your plans happening as you intended.

Ease the sting of funeral-related costs

While prepayment is not required to pre-plan or pre-arrange your funeral, it does allow you to lock in pricing, and can help with financial planning for the future.

Giving you and your loved ones peace of mind

Pre-planning your final wishes can help to lighten the emotional and financial burden placed on your loved ones after you pass. Remember, planning a service for a loved one who has just passed away is a big challenge. Not only might they be feeling uncertain, and maybe even fearful of the process, but they have to focus on this important event in the middle of deep grief and sadness – on top of their daily responsibilities.

Michele will be able to answer all of your funeral pre-planning questions. There are many details involved with a service, and by getting these questions answered early, it will make the experience easier on your family. Phaneuf has assembled a comprehensive funeral planning checklist so that family members can make sure they haven’t overlooked any detail. Please ask Michele for more details at the lunch.
