Services do not include cemetery fees or other cash advance items such as clergy honorariums, paid obituary notices or death certificates. The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

Professional Staff Services

Basic Services of Funeral Director & Staff

Our professional service charge includes: twenty-four hour availability; consultation with family; preparation and filing of authorizations, certificates and permits; placement of obituary notices; and a proportionate share of our overhead costs. The fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding and receiving remains.)

Embalming is a chemical process which provides temporary preservation of the body and eliminates health hazards. A person licensed by this state must perform this procedure. Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.  Please add $150 for additional staff and facilities time when an autopsy has been performed or organ/tissue donation has taken place.

Private Family Viewing	$495
Immediate family members may view the deceased for up to one hour in our private viewing room. The deceased is prepared for viewing and placed in the casket or container selected. Due to health issues and OSHA regulations, we are regrettably unable to offer private viewing when an autopsy has been performed. An upgraded cremation container is required.

Family-witnessed Cremation	$150
For those that want the peace-of-mind of being present for the cremation process, we will schedule the cremation at a mutually agreed upon time during normal business hours. An upgraded cremation container is recommended.

Candlelight Ceremony

Illuminated candles display a certain ambiance that creates a calm and peaceful environment for friends and family. Just as candles are used in many ceremonies, we can also arrange to have candles at the visitation or memorial service that can represent something significant to the family, whether it is a religious, cultural, or sentimental preference. We operate two on-site crematories. All cremations are performed by our fully trained and certified professional staff. We have developed a ten-step identification, control and security system to ensure the positive identification of the deceased throughout the cremation process. Our crematories are always available for inspection. This charge also includes State Medical Examiner fee and filing necessary paperwork.
Weekend / Holiday Memorial Service Fee	$100 or $200
There is a nominal staff surcharge to use our facilities or to have our staff in attendance at a church or cemetery service on Saturday or Sunday. $100 for an urn and $200 for a casket. Please note that most cemeteries also charge an additional fee for weekend or holiday internments.

Electronic Obituary Placement

As local newspapers continue to charge significant fees for obituaries, people are eliminated much of the printed text and relying more and more on on-line obituary notices. This fee is charged for placement of the obituary on our phaneuf.net website for twelve months, which provides family members and friend access to a full and unedited obituary, on-line guest book, photo gallery and email notification which can be seen by over 3,500 on-line visitors each month. In addition, one family member will be given administrator access to the on-line obituary site. The obituary will be also placed onto Tribures.com, the country’s largest database of searchable and archived obituaries.

Direct Cremation

Incudes basic services of funeral director and staff, local transfer of deceased from place of death, medical examiner fee, use of refrigeration, cremation container, crematory fee, and our ten-step identification, control and security system. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container we provide is a particle board container which is already included in our direct cremation charge. If the purchaser supplies their own container, subtract $15 from the price above.

Disposition of Cremated Remains

Release of Cremated Remains

No Charge

We will hold the cremated remains at no charge for up to sixty days until arrangements are made for their release to the family at our facility during regular business hours. After 60 days there will be a fee of $85 for sheltering and storage of cremated remains. This fee will be assessed per year or portion thereof.

Delivery of Cremated Remains

We will hand deliver cremated remains locally (10 mile radius), or carefully package and ship them via USPS registered mail to any domestic destination. Postal regulations require cremated remains be placed into a sift-proof container or urn.

Scattering of Cremated Remains

$195 or $795

Cremated remains will be scattered off the coast of New Hampshire, near the Isle of Shoals for $195. For $795, up to 6 people may attend a memorial service and scattering aboard a ship conducted by a Coast Guard Certified Captain. A scattering certificate is issued to the family at the completion of the scattering.

Payment & Credit Policy

Our firm has established a uniform credit policy to serve all families fairly and to alleviate misunderstandings. A sound credit policy enables us to contain our costs to the families we serve. As a small business providing services and merchandise, we are totally dependent upon our clients for prompt payment. Our general credit policy is that the entire amount of the funeral is due and payable prior to services being rendered. We realize that caring for the death of a loved one is often unexpected and unplanned. For your convenience, we offer 10 payment options:

The following are acceptable credit arrangements:

• Assignable Life Insurance: Life insurance may be used as a means of full or partial payment for funeral and other related expenses. We work with Beta Capital, a third party firm, who accepts insurance assignments. A fee of 5% of the assigned amount will be charged and reflected on your statement of goods and services as an “insurance assignment fee.”
• Payment Plans: We offer payment plans through American General Financial. Once the purchaser’s credit has been approved, funeral related expenses may be financed for up to 48 months at a rate of 13.99%. We charge a processing fee of $75 for filling out and submitting the application.
• Entitled Benefits: We will process on the family’s behalf any death benefits from City or State Welfare Department or Nursing Home Accumulated Funds Account as payment towards funeral expenses. If these funds do not cover the complete cost of the services selected, the family is responsible for the balance and our general credit policy would apply.

We regret that we are unable to accept settlement of estates through attorneys or probate court as a means of financial arrangements. All unpaid balances after sixty days (60) from the date of service accrue a finance charge of 1% per month (12% per year).

Special Situations

As a community service, it is our policy to offer our services and facilities at no cost to infants less than one year of age as well as those in public emergency service who lost their life in the line of duty. Services for children and special groups are offered at a reduced rate. It is our policy that no one be denied a service because of limited financial resources. If you would like to arrange a service and do not have sufficient funds to pay in accordance with the Payment and Credit Policy outlined in our General Price List, we will be pleased to discuss alternative arrangements.
